This free PDF will have everything necessary to understand the basic functionality of the ttRPG. It will include the full 108-card narrative system contained in a table, with several example rolling methods! Years of my life are in this table, and hopefully you can use some of that value in your own game, even if you don't join the Forevermoor community today. All free offerings are released under Creative Commons 3.
This book, as of 7/1/25, has 9 chapters or sections and 56 pages. Including the expansions, that number jumps to 27 sections and 171 pages. Approximately 40% of the writing and 15% of the illustrations are complete for the full 27-section codex. All game mechanics are complete, tested, and seem to play well, but require design translation to a usable form. Completing the book is proceeding smoothly as a result of simply assembling existing notes, but will still require considerable work due to the ambitious scale. The book proceeds from core concepts and design established in Round A, so will exist in a continuously expanding playable form throughout the crowdfunding period.
This 108-card hexagonal tarot deck will allow three different interpretive orientations, for a total of 324 narrative results, clairsentient* tarot readings, or D108 (D100 +8 special case) virtual dice roll deck draws.
The full data for these cards is already complete, and will be included in all first editions, even the free PDF! More than a decade of discontinuous work on narrative systems has made this possible. Each card is connected to up to six of the eighteen (don't panic!) ability scores, in some cases more than once, via the three Disciplines the card has on it. This probability distribution of results ensures narrative wiggle room and the occasional surprise, but often can be directly appended to an ongoing personal, crew, or campaign story arc.
The immense power of Tarot is unleashed in this six suit deck. Four of the suits are the familiar, but just as the Imaginaroid split the minds of Elise and Michael, here it adds two new suits at a 90-degree angle to the ones which came before. Together they are Bones, Swords, Wands, Cups, Ships, and Crews. The ten numbered cards and four major arcana for each new suit are exhaustively constructed and researched in accordance with the traditional progression of Tarot.
The crowdfunding and patron funds will pay to complete the elaborate illustrations necessary for each of the 108 cards.
*Participant must provide their own clairsentience, or the deck is useless for this purpose.
Join a role-playing community where everything is in-character. The peculiar politics of Earth in 2025 are just an esoteric lost history in the city and world of Cloudplace, Forevermoor. Watch out that the Cloudplace authorities don't lock you up for ranting about anything from normal social media, it isn't part of the game. Join a world of limitless community-shaped story landscapes: where your humble idea can spark a trend, your devotion to a cause can make you immortal.
The Forevermoor Magnitude System (FMSTM) came about by elaborating an existing unpublished ttRPG for compatibility with a Tarot deck in order to approach the existing LARP and Jubensha communities with support technology. As relatively easy as some of this web/mobile functionality is to assemble with modern tools, we have to grow at a sensible rate, primarily to absorb support costs.
Key features will include:
~ Submit your story as both feedback and for inclusion in the larger game world story.
~ Join a community of other story explorers to help shape the future of Cloudplace.
The system-level function of the game will be automated, with options for taking any element back to the table top.
Answers to questions you might have about Forevermoor.
Forevermoor is a place of wonder, the home layer of reality for Cloudplace, our city on the plain plane. It is also the name of the company Sean Carrier is putting together to bring the experience of our world to Earth. When you subscribe, your identity matrix, adventuring party, or even an entire community can be registered with the central Cloudplace authorities known as Clan Deimos. This registry grants free access to the famous and bewilderingly extensive Cloudplace marketplaces. With Identity Documentation (ID) you can also utilize the portals controlled and run by Clan Deimos, as well as potentially private portals found in the quasi-independent arcologies surrounding Cloudplace. With these portals, you can journey to innumerable otherworlds, setting the stage for any adventure you can imagine on the other side!
Forevermoor is for the lone wanderer, the band of misfits, the general of armies, the swashbuckling ship captain of the ocean or outer space, an eager squire to a severe paladin, a curious ice cave bound robot, a circle of fey or witches, the industrialist cum crimefighter, the time-worn artificer piecing together ancient Templates, a shape-shifting diplomat negotiating peace in volatile realms, the daring rogue, a mech-suited combatant bound to the principles of their Clan, an empathic oracle guiding others through treacherous mirages, a spectral archivist lost between realms, the druidic caretaker of far flung but lush Harmonic Plane groves, a sentient AI dreaming of liberation and identity in a world hostile to their existence, the stoic hermit who speaks the language of the white sands, the shadowy operative tracing dangerous Template smugglers, a scientist adventurer obsessed with bridging the virtual and base realities without going through Clan Deimos, an exuberant performer charming diverse crowds in arcology markets, the mind-bent poet uncovering the strange truths of alternate realities, or a lone vigilante unraveling conspiracies tied to the Phobos enforcers. Forevermoor is for everyone, forever.
Root principle of the following decision: There are no status changes which completely remove the ability to log into your account once it is created. No admin, or especially, no other player, has the ability to remove your access to the Forevermoor application. You will always be able to log in and vote, unless that login is banned for fraudulent behavior under a strict and clear set of published guidelines. Any character can be placed under administrative observation to enforce these guidelines. See rule zero.
You can retain your sponsor arcology as your fallback access with the linked character, adding a new character or characters with your own paid account. As long as your original sponsor arcology continues to sponsor you, you will retain access to the basic game materials and the originally sponsored character, even if you cancel your individual subscription.
People invited to join the arcology, and receive this effectively free account, retain control of it even if they are later banned from the arcology or leave of their own volition. You may still sign in to Forevermoor, accessing NPC's, support assistance, and other communications. If you wish to continuing participation in other features of Forevermoor you must upgrade to a paid plan, always starting around $1 (one US dollar) per month.
If the entity paying for the arcology subscription cancels that subscription, all of the characters currently being sponsored by that arcology are similarly suspended from most Forevermoor resources until they upgrade to a paid subscription of their own which can host the character. If a player already has a Citizen account of their own, the character is simply linked to that account instead of the arcology.
Security is important. Backups are important. We take important things seriously. Avoiding single points of failure seems prudent. We have auditor auditors.
Currently the Forevermoor application is in active development of features needed to reach the goals of 1st Edition. Resources will be dedicated to enhancing the usefulness of the application with other tools as more become available and the community provides feedback for what they would like to see. Absolutely!
Final artwork is all my own. [ed: Sean Carrier] I plan to use AI or generative fill for reference and placeholder images. Sometimes, the placeholders get folded with hand drawings and become close to final quality. I am budgeting time for a lot of drawing.
I only use AI products that have a legal umbrella for content creation such as OpenAI Dall-E and Adobe products. It is my personal belief, at this time, they are not using training data which takes revenue from artists. The financial risk they take miscalculating the moral and ethical concerns surrounding generative tools is great and they are market leaders, so at this moment it seems prudent to give them critical feedback as they establish norms which may ultimately echo for a long time.
Most of our products on Earth will be digital electronic, but we are partnering with paper publishers who have sustainable production options. As we get established in this dimension, we may have to utilize less-sustainable options for the small printing runs or print-on-demand. We will vector toward full sustainability to the best our ability and resources allow.
The aesthetic of the primary game world matches recycled printing options in paper and ink. These will be used for rulebooks and tarot card sets.
We believe our products deliver a vibe of community-building and collaboration to make our virtual worlds and maybe even Earth just a little better. We hope someday Earth will achieve the sociopolitical-economic stability of Cloudplace.
The RPG has been developed with the intention of allowing content from existing games and stories to be easily overlayed on the base story environment and materials. The RPG manual includes rules which referees and players can use to convert other systems on the fly and in session. This encourages the re-use and improves the usability of things you already have.
